Remember the days when the TV was a huge piece of furniture in the living-room? The family gathered around its 12″ black and white screen and watched whatever was offered on one of perhaps four channels. The picture was snowy and colorless. The sound, through the speakers mounted in the wooden cabinet below the screen, was adequate but tinny. But, watching TV was new and exciting and we did it as a family because there was one set and not much else to do.
